The Third Junior Young Physicists' Tournament JYPT will be held in Tasmania in September 2012. Check JYPT for details! AuScience runs the IYPT Australia Challenge and selects the Australian Team to compete at the International Young Physicists' Tournament (IYPT) In 2007 at the 20th IYPT in Korea Australia became World Champions! AuScience is an informal association dedicated to running science competitions with a international focus. Individual schools host the competitions and any costs are paid directly to those providing services. It does not collect money.
The purpose of organising tournaments like the IYPT Australia Challenge, JYPT and IJSO is to give Australian students the change to develop scientific thinking, research skills, communication skills and teamwork. and to measure themselves against their peers from around the world in international competition.
