AuScience runs the IYPT Australia Challenge and selects the Australian Team to compete at the International Young Physicists' Tournament (IYPT) In 2007 at the 20th IYPT in Korea Australia became World Champions!

AuScience has been established as a not-for-profit non- incorporated association dedicated to running science competitions with a international focus. It will seek to be incorporated and then seeking recognition as an australian body.

The purpose of organising tournaments like the IYPT Australia Challenge, JYPT and IJSO is to give Australian students the change to develop scientific thinking, research skills, communication skills and teamwork. and to measure themselves against their peersfrom around the world in international competition.

Another purpose of AuScience is to stimulate interest in engineering and science careers. The nature of our tournamets promote scientific research and problem solving, stretching the participants to work on very complex problems. Successful students will hopefully see future studies in science and engineering as an attractive option.
