Welcome to JYPT

The First Junior Young Physicists' Tournament, JYPT.

Tuesday October 5 to Friday October 8, 2010.

Venue: The Scots College, Sydney.

A competition for teams of students not in their two senior years of schooling or up to 16 years of age that have not started their Senior Courses. A team will consist of four students and two team leaders. It is open to all schools in the Asia Pacific Region although most would be expected to come from Australia and New Zealand.

The problems for the first JYPT have been released Problems 2010 and students can start working to solve the five set problems.
Students will conduct extended theoretical and experimental research into a number of open ended problems. At JYPT they will present and their solutions and defend them against the attacks of the other teams.

Formal Registration is now in process and registration forms and additional details have been forwarded to schools expressing an interest.

It is not too late to enter the tournament and this can be done by emailing Mr Alan Allinson

Teams from NSW, Victoria, Tasmania, Queensland, Wellington, Christchurch, Auxckland and Singapore already pre-registered.

The event will have a different host school each year. Anyone interested in hosting a future tournament are requested to register their interest.
